How to remove empty form fields in your Email Template when receiving submissions

Surely you had some experiences with some users, who didn’t fill out all your form fields, to which you received email notifications containing a lot of empty columns. Maybe your form has got several fields, but you don’t have the time to look up or scroll down in the Email Template from your inbox. If you wondered how to get pass this and stop receiving any more empty form fields, here is what you can do:

1. Set all your form fields as required or
2. Go to Notifications – Form Owner Options – Other Options and select

  • Do not show empty fields in the email notification → to remove empty form fields from your Email Template, which haven’t been filled out by your form users.
  • Do not show unselected checkboxes in the email notification → to remove from your Email Template the options form users haven’t selected from you checkboxes.

Now you don’t need to worry about getting anymore empty columns, as your Email Template will contain only filled out form fields.
Important Note These options can be applied only if you are using our Default Email Template.

    I have a form where clients order posters. Some order one and some order twor or three different posters. How do I hide the empty fields in the notification e-mail I send to the customer? Thanks in advance…


    1. Hi! You will need to create two autoresponders and establish autoresponder rules. In the autoresponder add the field variable related to that specific poster. For example, if X poster option is checked then send X autoresponder and another rule for the other poster.

Is this service free?

How many forms can I create?
It depends on the service plan you are on. Higher service plans enable more features, including more web forms for your account. If you need more forms, go to the My Account section of your account and click the upgrade button. To create an unlimited number of forms, either upgrade to the Platinum service plan or higher. How can I publish my forms?
You can publish your forms in many ways, by using their direct URL or HTML link, embedding them with a JavaScript code, Inline HTML or iFrame, using the Facebook app or the WordPress plugin, using popups, the Blogger code snippet and many more. Once you have created and customized your form, go to the Publish section to complete your work. Read more in our documentation.
How do I change my form design?
You can change the design of your form in the Themes section, which is located in your form settings. We offer a set of more than 30 predefined form themes for your forms, but you can also create your own from scratch. You can customize the submit button, the logo and more. To apply your own stylesheets, all forms come with a custom CSS editor.
